To run a LaTex text editor at first you will have to install and download the MikTex which is a free TeX distribution for Windows systems. You will have to download it from this page. This is actually the installer file and this is used to download the MiKTex distribution. Once the file is downloaded, run the file and you will be able to see the installation wizard of MiKTex. After clicking next select the Complete MiKTex installation which will be helpful for you in the future. The complete package is bit large so it will take a good amount of time and you should have a decent internet connection to download this.

Once the download is finished, now it is time to go where the file is been downloaded. There are a lot of files but there should be only one. The real installation of MiKTex will take place now. This process will also take some time.

You can also read about How to Convert. Now it is time to download and install the texmaker editor to run and compile your LaTex document. If you are using Windows computer, as far my knowledge goes the most popular text editor is the Texmaker.

You can go to the Download Texmaker page to download the editor. Accept the defaults on the next 2 screens by clicking Next. In the Settings, choose Letter as the preferred paper size. Click Next. Click Start to begin the installation. When it is complete, click Next and then Close. In the proTeXt pop-up window, click the Install button next to TeXstudio Click through the installer, leaving all the defaults.

Click Finish when the installer is complete. You have now installed both LaTeX and the editor. While we appreciate contributions, we think that for the core LaTeX software pull requests are usually not a good approach unless the change has be already discussed and agreed upon. The stability of LaTeX is very important and this means that changes to the kernel are necessarily very conservative. It also means that a lot of discussion has to happen before any changes are made.

So if you do decide to post a pull request, please bear this in mind: we do appreciate ideas, but cannot always integrate them into the kernel and it is quite likely that we reject updates made in this way. If you want to discuss a possible contribution before or instead of making a pull request, we suggest you raise the topic first on the LATEX-L list or drop a line to the team.
